ISASS Important Update
GREAT NEWS: ISASS has successfully met the requirements to maintain our seat on the AMA House of Delegates, ensuring that the society has representation at both the CPT and RUC advisory panels.
Every five years, the AMA reviews the membership of the specialty societies to ensure that the requirements for this important seat continue to be met. We are delighted that our membership stepped up again during this review process. Since earning the seat in 2014, ISASS has worked diligently to represent spine surgeons and manufacturers as one of only four specialty societies with a primary focus on spine.
ISASS has been a prominent voice on all spine-related issues that come before the CPT Editorial Panel and the RUC, working to protect access to existing codes and payment and to obtain new codes and associated fair payment. There is more work to be done, so we are grateful for the opportunity to continue to represent our membership.
Thank you to Dr. Morgan Lorio, ISASS US President, for his tremendous effort around this initiative, and to all of our AMA members for ensuring that we can continue advocating on your behalf.
