Medical Societies Urge Congress to Vote to Eliminate Cuts in 2024 Physician Reimbursement
A coalition of professional medical societies, including ISASS, submitted a letter on November 16, 2023, to members of the US Congress urging them to take action in December 2023 to avoid the imposition of a 3% reduction in physician payments.
The announced reduction by CMS would have a significant negative effect on patients and physicians. CMS stated in their 2024 Physician Final Rule that only Congress can override the scheduled decreases. As a result, the pressure is on for Congress to act before the cuts go into effect on January 1, 2024.
ISASS strongly supports the efforts of the physician community and has been a leader in advocating for fair payment for physicians for their services.
