Physician Groups Issue Joint Statement on Principles for Medicare Payment Reform
A coalition of 120 physician medical societies issued an updated statement on Medicare Payment Reform Principles.
ISASS is including in the coalition and was part of the effort to review and update the statement which articulates a series of priorities that Congress and the Department of Health and Human Services can and should consider to update and improve the Medicare Payment regulatory environment.
This set of principles provides a framework for payment reform as an early step in our effort to develop consensus across medicine on policy recommendations that will reshape the payment system so that it works better for patients and physicians and put an end to the annual advocacy exercise of stopping impending payment cuts. Work continues on further developing concrete proposals to meet the goals set forth in this document. Further details will be shared over the summer.
